Yes, you haven't got the ground clearance to go chewing up the byways burning chip fat on a Sunday afternoon, so you can be excused. ;)

I have but bugger the chip fat,only full fat unleaded here :D ;)

You'd have to be a complete oppswit to put the chains around the roof-pillars on an otherwise OK car, as those pictures demonstrate. That's what ALWAYS happens when you do it. I have done it that way, but only with burnouts.
The chains are much better placed at the bottom of the car, around the suspension. It does less damage(none usually), and you get a better, more effective pull.
