I wouldn't mind guessing there is only CAN on the connector. Obviously at some point in the speedo, that gets converted.

Not true has an analogue line but damned if I know what it connects three BlRt wires near the heater motor, one of which is definitely analoge

Did it change on later ones? As the half-CANs would have analogue for the HUs, for SDVC. Later Vecs had the full CAN HUs, so that analogue wouldn't be required.

All 4 Vec Cs I've dealt with have had one, 3x '55 facelifts and one '58...

Have been advised a box is needed, but would prefer to fit the wiring myself...( Not that I'm precious about my cars or anything ). ..if at all possible

Can't think what a late vec-c would need analogue speed for, unless its a hangover from the half-can days

The wiring diags are generic, not filtered for a specific config/spec.  Not that I currently have access to Insignia Schems, as I'm, as usual, laying in the bath...
