IKEA, English Breakfast 2 Teas and 3 Coffees - How Much!!
« on: 29 January 2014, 19:12:22 »

Was in there this morning. Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Hash Brown and Tomato, and Unlimited supply of fresh Tea or Coffee, whilst on the Free WiFi.

:o  £1.50  :y :y

Need to be a Family Card Member for this, which is totally free. Job Done, probably pass there a least 3 times a week, will be going back.  :y

Sausage and Mash in the Evenings £2.50 all other food is reasonably priced and tastes excellent.  ;)

I work within walking distance of the MK branch, but avoid the place. Food? Just food? Not a hope, as they insist you walk around the entire store, actively blocking you from shortcuts.

Fortunately, Mister Teas cafe is even closer ;D

I was in the Tottenham one, through the Front Door, Escalator, Restaurant, and Back out again. given them and the the Local Cockroach Burgers, more than happy.

Even to pass and pop in for a Free Tea of Coffees(s) is nice.

Sounds tempting but there's nothing like Ikea to start off that throbbing vein on my forehead. >:(

Or a full-on chrons flare-up and 5 days of agony caused by food poisoning from a dodgy hotdog.

I went there once and thought I'd died and gone to hell!!  :o

Naively thought I'd just 'pop in' to look at a bed not knowing about the maze system that they employ to stop you leaving, and what made it worse it was a Saturday!!!  ::)  It was crammed full of clucky women dragging pissed off blokes around!!  ;D

Once I made my way out, I vowed I'd never go back and never have!  ;)

Yes, I think, like Ryanair, they employ the "make life misery for the punters and they'll remember that they came here to save a few quid" theory. It clearly doesn't work for me.

The place is just a rather warehouse anyway. If they just had a decent web site that you could order stuff from they could close it to the public and just employ a few pickers and send it all out by Parcelfarce. >:(

And that would be any better how? At least if you pick up the wrong thing, it's your own fault, but if someone else picks it wrong then you're stuffed, especially when Parcel farce have dumped it in the garden in the pouring rain :-X

It would be much better. You don't have to go there and battle it out yourself. If it doesn't get delivered, gets left out in the rain or the wrong thing gets delivered, it's IKEA's problem thanks to distance selling regs. I'd be delighted if you could just order online. :y

Not really possible in MK, but even if it were, they employ biffs to stop you doing that, or taking shortcuts. And said biffs get quite shitty when you tell them to mind their own business.

So I take the obvious solution, and not often go in. Apart from a plate of meatballs and a hotdog, I've never bought any of the overpriced, low quality tat they sell.

Thinking about it, I think I may actaully be banned from there by one of the supervisors, after I disturbed his homework.

My finest hour was when the top dog in (ex) computer chain, Byte, told me over the phone that if ever he saw me in any of his stores, he'd have me removed. My reply, "Do you know what I look like?"

I nearly got banned from the Pound Shop last summer, for constantly asking staff how much certain items cost (lunchtimes in MK are boring, and this had become a daily relief thing). Fortunately, a young sales assistant told the supervisor that said she'd deal with me...  ...and I knew the young assistant (actually, been on hols with her a few times, yet never knew she worked there). I promised her I wouldn't arse about in there any more, so I need to find a new target :P

Technically, I'm still barred from my local as well, for ranting at one of the bar staff and calling him a retard....
