Get it fumigated :y if there is anything there you'll find it soon enough once it's dead :y

Works a treat on aircraft, can't see a car being any different...

Nothing stopping them coming back after though, As soon as the bonnet is open or hear any noise they are well gone probably.

If I were a mouse, and had bothered to clamber to the top of a hot engine simply to nibble some foam, the I doubt I cba to carry it very far :-\

Could feed a pipe from another car, and tuck it down the back of the bonnet. Leave it running for three or four hours and see what happens. Once done ventilate the car thoroughly before using again, ie all doors, sunroof, boot lid and bonnet open for a good few hours so as not to gas yourself later :y

Could use that last waiting time to strip the scuttle and check every nook and cranny within the engine bay for the nest :y

Thanks everyone  :)

I Wonder if mice like going over 100mph on a private runway  ::)

Was thinking about putting one or two of these bait boxes in the engine with rat poison inside.

.. I'll need to think hard about what to do next. Talk about making work.

One things for sure i'm not going to let this little critter nibble away the whole car, God help him if i catch him with my bare hands.  :-X  ;D

Not very clear, But you can see the damage.

Some fresh damage today on the left foam part, There was only one mark there yesterday.

Whatever next, I'd much rather have a problem with the car than this.

Blimey!! You should see the state of my foam! I must have a herd of mice under my bonnet!!  :o :D  ;D

Some good news I caught one, Parked the GLS where the Elite was parked and getting nibbled at,  left the Elite at a friends house, Been a bit awkward like but it has paid off..

Around 23:45 9/2/2014 I looked under the engine and noticed the snap trap had been set off and a nice surprise attached to the end of it (not the chocolate button) a brown mouse  :y

Hopefully there was only one, Going by the damage it's possible there was only one, But will keep setting traps for a week..

My trap set up is like this, x4 snap traps under the car, x2 bait boxes in engine, x1 glue trap on top of the 4 pot engine.

This reminds me of that post where a guy pulled out a full dead rat from his engine bay.... a bit chargrilled though!  :o

I once serviced a 206 (IIRC), the owner complained of a thunking sound that only started on the way up the road into the garage... removed a squished rabbit from around the driveshaft and wedged into the chassis. Messy job.  :D

Another again.. That's 4 or 5 now. Can't be many left, If so they must realise they are missing a few comrades, Still they come back for more  ::)

...…… I'm looking for a temporary fix to the damage to the foam padding, Would this stuff suffice http://bit.ly/1mflsyx to summer till I can get my hands on a replacement to swap. ?

Remove the foam completely  ::) they can't eat what isn't there and it might help prevent water from getting to the coil pack wiring :y
