Nothing is impossible, but what a workload that who be, and for what gain?

Using the callipers? Not that I'm aware of, but someone may know.

But having looked at brake upgrades for the rear, it was dismissed due to system failures on slopes as the discs cool.

Where's as, with a drum handbrake, when the discs cool they shrink the drum onto the brake shoes, giving a firmer hold, not less, as with the calliper based system.

There are numerous manufacturers with problems with calliper hand brakes, where the car has rolled off causing damage and all sorts.

Yes it can be left in gear, but a drum hand brake is more efficient.




If upgrading brakes, a way forward might be to fit front callipers on the rear, as suggested on here, but this is untested.

the car is a drift car but im still to install a hydro.. and wondering a easy way about it with omegas

You'd have to retain the mechanical handbrake in any case, as a hydraulic would never pass an MOT nor meet construction and use regs.

It'd be awkward to convert to hydraulic, as the rear circuits are split from the ABS ECU back - on later cars, at any rate.

the car wont be road legal ever again lol.. well the abs is disconnected so i could plug it into that module

A quick search turned up this dual circuit cyinder set up

Reroute your two hydraulic lines from the ABS unit to the rear brake calipers via the cylinders.

In normal braking the pressure to the rear calipers passes through the extra cylinders. If you pull on the lever it operates the rear calipers.

Existing weedy cable handbrake remains unmolested.

Don't know if it is road legal though must be very similar in operation to the dual controls in a driving instructors car

hi I have fitted a hydro hand brake in mine not that hard to do
I try n get some pics I have the standard hand park for parking all it good for n the hydro for mad entries when skidding
