Ken Barlow is back :(

Just heard that William Roache has been cleared of all charges

Will this clear his name or will there still be a culture of  'No smoke without fire'

I have mixed feelings about these prosecutions,  alleged victims should be able to bring it to court  but also people should be seen as not guilty when and if they are found not guilty

Cynical old me just sees this as an attempt to make a bit of money from the press etc

That is good news!

I have a horrible feeling that certain people have jumped on the Saville band wagon and have seen an opportunity of making money/claiming fame by accusing well known public figures of despicable acts decades after they apparently happened.

Just glad to see good old Bill cleared.  Corrie must have him back! :y :y :y

The women cant be named for legal reasons,they should be named and shamed.....

Now in my opinion the money seeking bitches who falsely accused him should be named, shamed and be made to pay the costs of the case.

Agreed.

I do not understand this no names for legal reasons, I can understand it in the case of children but I think everybody should have the right to face their accuser and if proven not guilty then there should be no concealing of either parties identity

With paedophilia and rape being the 2 most vile crimes imaginable imo, if guilty then they should be drawn and quartered  >:( >:(
But if it is proven beyond doubt that the accuser lied for money / personal gain then he / she should be hung out to dry  >:(
