Kitchen project
« on: 14 February 2014, 17:34:25 »

Has quietly been underway for a week plus some preparatory work before that  - moving radiators putting in French doors and refurbing a spare room to take all the crap out of kitchen to create space.

Quiet until today that is......3 plasterers arrived at 8 am sharp and they are still here - singing loudly, swigging tea, laughing and joking..... Bit of a contrast to joiner, electrician, plumber and general builder

35 sq metres of ceiling plus they stripped kitchen sink and stuff out to do behind. They were projecting 1pm finish before but said weather would delay job. Fixed price so no problem for me.

Project experience wearing a bit thin now....waiting around for granite template then a weeks wait, floor levelling, and lots of odds and ends as they connect all the appliances.

I went for an English Kitchen Range but when all the units and appliances turned up already assembled (nothing flat packed) absolutely everything from Germany. I mistakenly thought the carcasses were from Mereway in Birmingham.

In all the building changes between us we forgot about a soil stack which was concealed behind a corner cooker hood which I cannot move so will not be the exact job I intended.

To be fair, my kitchen is both larger and better equipped than your local hospital... ;)
