Are the (allegedly) 'rain sensitive' wipers accessible/adjustable with Tech2?
I have had endless opportunity to observe the (non) performance of mine over the last week and they always get it wrong
Occasionally they will vigorously polish a dry screen but usually they remain inactive until long after it is possible to see safely (when an intermittent wipe would have worked fine). Useless........

Outside my experience (I prefer cogs) - can you remove the system, at least partly (perhaps remove the wiring to the sensor) and replace with a normal intermittent stalk? Or will it just go doolally?

I don't know how much of the standard wiring is present I doubt whether the rain sensitive wipers will be in the Haynes wiring diagrams, will have to have look.

My ideal would be to keep the existing system but have it working as intended. Might be worth trying a different sensor (assuming it isn't glued to the screen).

The cheapo ones are rubbish, just binned a six month old set of champions to, Bosch Aerotwins all the way

I use them on the 3.2, with its poxy, over zealous rain sensing wipers.  On the MV6, I use Bosch tradional style wipers, seem to have a better ability to remove shite from the screen in the summer. In the weather we've been having, seem to clear heavy rain better at high speed.

I recommend either, the Bosch ones are worth paying a bit extra for (although the Aeros are not nearly £25 a pair (for the Omega fitting) on Hellfrauds trade now  ).

Sensor won't help. They are all the same - if you leave it on auto setting (as opposed to turning it from Off ot Auto when it starts raining), it will be desperately slow to start. And they once it starts, if it detects rain a million miles away, it will polish the already dry screen dry as fast as it can.

If that is not what you want, you're out of luck. If it is, you'll find the system ideal.

Is the sensor combined with a relay/ECU by the interior mirror? or is there another relay/ECU in the fuse box?

They are all the same

except for mine, oh and ChrisGixers

- if you leave it on auto setting (as opposed to turning it from Off ot Auto when it starts raining), it will be desperately slow to start. And they once it starts, if it detects rain a million miles away, it will polish the already dry screen dry as fast as it can.

If that is not what you want, you're out of luck. If it is, you'll find the system ideal.

At present my wipers have 4 settings
Off = Off
Auto = mostly off (except when screen is dry or properly wet)
Speed 1 = Speed 1
Speed 2 = Speed 2

Mine does seem to respond OK when the rain starts, it is just useless when I need an intermittent wipe. I am forever switching off & on again to provoke a wipe.

I don't particularly want your wipers but Chris's sound ideal.......

They are all the same - try a local members. Its just it suits chrisgixer, mostly.
