engine clean

hi guys got a 2.2Dti 127k and the fuel pump is breaking up and left pile of brass bits in fuel filter! how do I get rid of these bits and do I have to clean whole engine or just remove brass bits and change fuel filter! Been told to scrap it it be cheaper but had car from new but don't want to spend a fortune any help be good thankyou

You need to flush the filter housing and post filter pipes, easily down with a few cans of carb cleaner.

Are the injectors ok?

am not sure if they ok or not but am hoping so thanks for your reply would rather give it a go than scrap the old lass
