Sadly, the family with Buttons has gone quiet.

But we now have Cosmo. 13 week old black male. Charming as you like, with the loudest purr in the world. Totally submissive to Maisie wants to play, watches tv avidly and has a wonky ear.

...and...

Maisie hates him. :(

And how will that affect Cosmo's chances of living in the Reading area of Reading?

Well if he wants an owner in Reading I'm sure cats protection will oblige. :)

As for Reading, it's not looking good so far that's for sure.

Chris, last September we got a second male cat as a mate to our existing one and half year old male, didn't start well at all, senior had the right ass and was only seen in the house when hungry, four months on and things are much better to the point where they will sleep in the same armchair together. The kitten still torments the older one though and although almost twice the kittens size he won't fight back which seems odd as he'll see of neighbours cats with short shrift. ???

Thanks Henry. Its the first day together so, as you say, hopefully time will help. While Maisie is not happy, and hisses and spits if he gets too close, she will run off rather than strike out. Maybe she will settle down.

Yes it's a territorial thing.  You'd be a bit pissed off if a stranger turned up out of the blue, ate your food, watched your telly, slept in your bed and got lots of attention from Mrs G!  :D  ;D

Make sure you give Maisie lots of attention so she dosn't feel pushed out by the new arrival and I'm sure she'll get used to the situation.   ;)  :y
