Windows 8
« on: 20 February 2014, 18:31:20 »

This is an interesting article of why it is like it is.

http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-forced-windows-8-on-people-2014-2?nr_email_referer=1&utm_source=Triggermail&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Business%20Insider%20Select&utm_campaign=BI%20Select%20%28Wednesday%20Friday%29%202014-02-19&utm_content=emailshare

It looks as if it will be at least Windows 9 or 10, before power users benefit, but how big will their market share be by then?

A real fuss over nothing...as said before I get along fine with it using full Windows 8 with mouse and the short cuts on keyboard. Touchscreen obviously on phone or on tablet.

I heartily agree! :y :y

Windows 8 is great for me, and it like everything else you soon get used to any differences from what went before.  Seems to me certain interested parties want to put the boot in! ::) ::)

I actually really like Windows 8 and find it really intuitive to use, I have used Windows since it came out way back in the stone age ;D

I remember when XP came out it was slated for being like a Fisher Price toy with its coloured buttons etc

Now the Luddites won't let it go and swear that W8 is the spawn of Satan ;)

I still have several pcs running from W95 to W8 (with the exception of Me & Vista) those two were awful

I think nowadays people just like to dislike new versions of equipment, maybe they think that makes them  'cool' ::)

Windows 8 is a fantastic operating system, let down by a poor user interface in a crazed desire to get them as a formidable force in the tablet market. Both the interface and the tablet have been a failure. Shame, as the underlying OS is brilliant.

XP has had its day, it really should have been retired years ago, but some people just refused to use Vista (which was also an excellent OS)
