I would just ignore this post, Jim was clearly not in a good place at the moment and does not have the 'Capacity' to make such a decision (Mental Capacity Act 2005) a 'Best Interest Decision' on his behalf needs to be made; who in their right mind would choose Manual over Auto......... :y :y

.. and I guess it follows that his gearbox needs to make decisions on his behalf too? ::)

..... not drive..  :P

Drive? In a softly sprung Elite Omega?  ::) ::) ::)

Yeah, good point. He needs to sort out the suspension while he's at it. :y

It seems that a manual gearbox is a must for all those here that 'want to be in control' however we're talking lard arsed 1700kg exec barges, cars that by their very nature were built to sit all day on the motorway - a job they do very well. I'm not against a manual gearbox in the right car, but IMHO an Omega just isn't the right car.

Believe that car is already Irmscher sprung, so that's the suspension sorted :y

Funny how all the manual bashers have only driven a manual Omega on short and temporary occasions  :-X

That's me! Hand up! :y  I can't think of a reason why I'd want to drive one further though  ::) ::) ::)

We now only have my daughter's Fiat that has the extra pedal & I rarely have the need or inclination to drive it, but up until a couple of years ago drove a manual Astra everyday, it's not that I can't .... just have no desire to when there are auto cars that will do it for me.

Might be .... but also a type of car thing  :y :y :y. I've had auto's now for getting on for 25 yrs, when I bought a car with 4 doors instead of trying to get two babies into seats at the back of my Manta.

The hearing aid beige interior is almost preferable to the red/tan 'leather' interiors of some

(like this .....  ??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-MERCEDES-E-CLASS-E350-CDI-BLUEEFFICIENCY-SPORT-CONVERTIBLE-CONVERTIBLE-DIES-/181282787396?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a354bd044 )
