Nothing wrong with the manual boxes Andy, or the extra pedal lol. TBH I find the manual box nice to use, ok it`s got a longish throw but I like it, better than the Senator box and I much prefer it to any slushbox  ;)

Fit a short shift lever, bend it slightly towards the drivers side, job done, a real pleasure to drive.  :y

Given that Jim has already sourced all the parts, I would suggest that he has already decided to make his Elite a bit more involving to drive... ::)

Plod cars seem to have that effect on their owners :y

I would just ignore this post, Jim was clearly not in a good place at the moment and does not have the 'Capacity' to make such a decision (Mental Capacity Act 2005) a 'Best Interest Decision' on his behalf needs to be made; who in their right mind would choose Manual over Auto......... :y :y

..... to make his Elite a bit more involving to drive... ::) .....

Each to their own ...... but how involving can 1700kg of lard arsed suspensioned Elite be to drive ..... manual or not? It amuses me that people want a manual Omega so they can 'be in control' when the likes of Aston Martin, Mercedes etc build super cars with 2 & 3 times the power of even a 3.2 Omega but fit an autobox as standard.

Mercedes couldn't build a decent manual gearbox if they tried ;D

Besides, it's not called a slushbox for nothing ::)

Probably because all their drivers want to do is waft along going "Look at how rich I am!", not drive..  :P
