RIP Off to the crusher soon
« on: 03 March 2014, 18:25:10 »

Just a few more parts to salvage, then it will be time to say goodbye to my old 2.6 CD, the best car I have owned.

Bits of wiring, tyres, shocks, ashtray, oil cooler, spoiler, will be keeping members cars on the road.

The bonnet, cams, climate are keeping other Omegas going.

The LPG kit is going to be used to repair a Ford Ranger conversion.

Getting a big pile of parts in the garage.

The last parts grab will be going underneath to unbolt a few things.

But is is worth keeping the heads?

Ah, yes, to clarify, Martin Imber did say somebody spun into the side of him.

Locally, around these parts, any accident counts as "I binned it", irrespective of who's fault it was. Hence, you'll here me saying I binned Mrs TB car, or I smashed up her car, even though I was one of the innocent parties.  Strangely enough, that was the best car we'd ever had as well...  ...I can see a theme ;D

There was a head on in front of me and the victim spun into the side of my car.

the sale was Vauxhalls loss to make as if there was an Omega C I would have bought one, but no Signum then Insiginia, no Omega replacements.

I should have gone BMW but I could not bring myself to do it, after the shabby treatment of a dealership my dad used to work at, then the fact new ones are so bland, and then they crach in front of you and cause £2500 of damage to a well cared for Omega. No I just could not.

3 days later did a Land Rover experience for works XMas do, then test drove a Discovery, I liked it, different enough to not envoke Omega memories, not bland, not boring, nippy rould town even if not fast.

Martin, sorry to see your car go that way. You did a lot of work on it and it served you well.
At least the car "lives" on in other cars. :y

BMW's are very fragile in a jousting match. Omega is far more rugged.
