Strange codes
« on: 14 March 2014, 17:34:30 »

So todays problem, driving home today and as I pull up in traffic its idling rough and then after a few seconds the car with a spanner light comes on. When I pull away I think the gearbox is in limp mode as it feels like snow mode is engaged.

Read to codes and I've got:

B0117  Pending  Generic  Passenger-Side Air Bag Circuit Low Input
C0000  Pending  Mfr-spec  Code definition not known - please refer to car service manual

Not sure what the airbag has to do with anything and does anyone know what C0000 is?

Many thanks

Thank you

It's a 2.2, so no pedal trick unfortunately - I've check Engine ECU and TCM and the above is all I seem to have.

If cleared they both come back immediately.

If you're near me, I'll happily give you the codes that Tech2 can pull out :)

Fair enough, not a real code then?

Tech2 only option I assume?

Fair enough, looks like I will have to find a way to make it work well enough to get itself to a tech 2.

So checked all the normal things for rough running (vacuum leaks, breathers, throttle body, plugs, water / oil in plug wells) and found nothing, so went off for a short drive. Almost immediately 'coolant level' comes up on the MID, car is running rough and spanner light is back on.

Get back home (just) and passenger side top of the radiator has a split with a small fountain coming out!

So I now at least know I need a new radiator, but not mad keen to do all that while I have the original problem - or could the 2 items be related?

Mine has the seperate trans oil cooler, any recomendations for supplier? Or is it VX only?

Radiator linked to looks ok :y it has the built in oil cooler, but you'll struggle to find one without...

Shop around though, you might improve the price a bit :y

As for the other, gearbox level ok? Any slipping or banging :-\

No slipping, occational slight thump in slow moving traffic, that is not new however. Fluid level checked fairly recently but will check again when fitting the radiator. Its also running really rough, like a misfire.

I will get the radiator on tomorrow so I can run it and see what happens!
