An update. They stopped her Wharfrin in order to stop the slight internal blood loss she was having so they could use a camera to examine her for the cause of this. This of course lead to blood clots forming one of which hit her brain hence the stroke. Results of yesterdays MRI scan show the clot still present in her brain and they're trying aspirin to try to dissolve it.Meanwhile consultant says quite severe brain damage has resulted. It's just a case now of sorting out what the damaged bits do.She does recognise people who visit her without prompting, she also remembers birthdays/appointments etc.,tonight she told me to buy 3 cards for birthdays this month.Speech is a little less laboured for her now although still difficult to understand what she's driving at for a while. She has lost all feeling in her right arm and has very, very little in her right leg[I always thought it was the left side that was affected]she is slowly regaining her "swallow"response and can now have small drinks and food[although this has to be put through a blender or similar to basically liquefy it for her.
