Microsoft have come to the conclusion that the touch tiled interface is the best for touch screen devices like phones and tablets and a Windows 7 type of interface is best for mouse and keyboard users, after watching sales of windows 8 drop faster than a whores knickers in a sex starved army camp.  :o :o :o

So they are going to make this amazing technological leap. Touch screen devices will default to the tiled interface and PC installations will default to the Windows 7 style interface with a proper start menu. No wonder they employ 1000's of PHDs to come up with solutions like this. Wouldn't it have been easier to just ask the customers and give them what they want?  :o :o :o

Yes, but they'd have to admit doing so, and instantly un justify their own jobs.

Horse bolted, door duly closed!

Anyone who uses Windoze on the desktop has settled for Win 7 now, so they've got until the support for that expires to make WIn 8 usable, and then, perhaps, see a recovery. No hurry!

Yes, but where would the fun have been if they had ::)

You can only sell the next best thing if it's better than the last best thing... stands to reason that every so often they make summat so awful that they can sell an alternative for more cash...

Make Windows 8.0 better than Windows 7.0, but make it counter intuitive to use, then, having perfected Windows 7.5 by giving it the best of both, market it as Windows 9 and make a small fortune ;D
