Apparently the responsibility for pollution moved on Tuesday from the Atomic Energy Agency to the Met Office, hence the reporting. It is still BOLLUX, the climate fluctuates END OF.

Nevertheless the fact is that recent weather conditions have caused additional health problems in those with lung / breathing problems, there has been a huge increase in 999 calls for assistance Nationally................ :( :(

As it always has and as tilda says it is only the reporting that causes an increase. I do sympathise with those who have problems but it is nothing new.

Its a very common occurrence actually. It's regularly covered the cars. Just hasn't been on the national news as often.

Actually that explains the sudden change I recognised, but still over hype. Should be treated just the same as pollen count, info disseminated job done. No need for this hourly scaremongering going on for days. End of again

Different experts, saying different things about the same subject, surprise it's in the mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2595840/UK-weather-Experts-divided-smog-cloud-actually-exists.html

I will of course find other more suitable sources, if this source is deemed as more or less unreliable as the rest  ::)

Agreed, desert sands have been lying on my cars a number of times over many years, certain weather conditions affect those with problems, I have experienced some high winds that literally take my breath away, othes don't seem too, a really hot day with a sudden down pour will see me take to the indoors due to the sudden high humidity.......... :( :(

What about rapeseed, the yellow stuff, which grows in abundance round here. Looks lovely but badly affects SWMBO.

The pollution here is nothing even on these so called 'bad' days.

To put it into perspective, the current uk level 10 would be classed as normal in Shanghai.....where as a very high would be up to ten times our very high.

I bet it's worse than that again, in the Sahara on occasion.

Ah but in the Sahara it's just sand, not pollution.  ;)
