Police Just Knocked On My Door

Police lady - 'Hello, Are you the owner of the black Vauxhall Omega ?'

Me - 'Yes I am.'

Police lady 'Unfortunately it has been hit by another vehicle. The driver has been arrested. Do you want to come and have a look?'

She wouldn't tell me what he had been arrested for but she let me have a guess.

Is it compulsory to tell my insurance company?

I've heard that they class you as a greater risk even though I wasn't even in the car?

The Police lady said he was and gave me a leaflet with his name and insurance company.
