Lastec equipment which is used in many mobile vans can get you from either direction.

If however, there were vehicles coming the other way, on the side of the van, it stands to reason that it would have struggled to get you as the oncoming traffic may obscure the camera

The quieter it was the more chance you have of getting caught really

Sod's law being that after just finishing about a mile between the SPECS cameras I'd only given it some gas to get into a gap in the inside lane. Just as a bus uncovered the van. >:(
