Certainly potential for welding work :y all things being equal, it should lead to better/more consistent work...

Well, that's how I read it the first time round. ;D

I thought "Christ on a bike! already?" ;D

Thanks all :y

Shall report back with mpg after the weekend, reset the computer when I collected it, currently 43.1mpg over 375 miles...

Since start this morning, 33.7mpg over 14 miles including idling through its mechanical inspection... Tbh if it gets anywhere near the official urban figure I will be happy :y

I'll be very interested to hear what mileage Al gets out of a gallon of liquid dinosaur - I reckon his use probably closely mirrors my regular commuting use.. or to put it another way, I always get appalling mpg out of my cars compared to everyone else (TB & Chris aside ;D) and as a taxi Al seemed to get appalling mpg...

Ahh another digital throttle driver, it's either on or off  ;D ;D ;D

Nah, far from it really .. but I can never seem to eek the kind of mpg out of cars that some do; of course maybe I always buy pups .. that might explain it!  For instance I get ~21mpg around town in the Elite and ~28mpg on a long run at 8070, I've seen others report numbers I can only dream of ;D

Although the M3 only gets ~17mpg around town and on the commute.. I do tend to drive that one a little harder!

About the same as my 3.2, in fact I've only ever seen 28/30 on a motorway run, and that was only after I'd zero'd the display.  :)
I do get the figures you dream of out of the Beemer though.  :y :)

Very nice indeed, Mr Al. :y :y :y :y

But will you be using such a fine motor car to ferry around the 'great unwashed'?

Indeed I shall, albeit at a price... Namely £2 per mile as a bare minumum ;D

Don't forget your 'special' rates for Phil.  ;)

A quick fumble was the going rate, IIRC.

My brother-in-law was a taxi driver for more than 30 years. Apparently the smell of vomit tends to linger. :D :D ;D

Fumbles would be fine, but I'm not sure my bank manager would be so appreciative of them to pay direct debits ;D

Only an issue if you fail to clean up properly Mr Opti... I tend to strip the affected area and clean every item individually. I can't stand the smell of the stuff, so a quick wipe with a sticky tissue just doesn't cut it IMHO :y

Mind you, Al.......the said BIL worked nights for many years, picking up 'pissed up' girls and boys from the clubs at 3 in the morning.

He certainly had his fair share of 'runners' to contend with. :-\
