diesel Omega requires Fuel Drain off pipes
« on: 11 May 2014, 16:51:31 »

Hi

I'm looking at buying a 2002 Omega saloon diesel and have been told that FUEL DRAIN OFF PIPES REQ RENEWING. ( IF NOT                            STARTED DAILY OR EVERY OTHER DAY WILL REQ BLEEDING Or EASY START (?)

Is this a big job and how much should I expect to pay a local garage for parts and labour?  Thanks in anticipation.

No, if it's a TD, & no idea how much, (if a 2.2 no info)  but probably no more that £50. :y

Edit: As it's 2002 it will be a 2.2 so am unable to advise.

Check how often it has been started using "easy start" .. if more than a tiny few... walk as that muck wrecks engines ..... :(

Poor compression due to severely damaged combustion chambers? >:(

Best get the seller to change the leak-off pipes ... or simply walk away ... IME ;)
