Went up to see Maureen in hospital last night and although there is no firm date yet set they are talking of sending her home sooner rather than later.So she's managed to do a few scrawled drawings and get through to me how the furniture will need to be re-arranged to enable things like a hoist for getting her in and out of bed to be got in.When the day arrives when she does come home then the hard work will begin of me learning how to do the necessary things to care for her.But at least she'll be home,dead chuffed!!!

Apologise chrisgixer your post hit when I was typing my last post.Yes I'm hoping some help will be available,and looking into it,but if I have to manage alone-well not totally as there is family about to help as and when their work/family commitments allow-then that's what I'll have to do,after all you do what you must and make it fit don't you?

Hoping for a reasonable amount of recovery.Her speech is improving on a daily basis and she is beginning to get a little movement in her right leg so hopefully over time she will regain some kind of use from that,unfortunately so far her right arm is totally inoperative and from a purely laymans point of view I think we can discount the idea of her getting any use from that at all.The medical staff remain totally non-committal on this issue.Again from my point of view use of her leg is more important than use of her arm as at least then she has at least a certain amount of mobility.However it goes though I feel it will be a good while yet before the final verdict is in.

You must be one of those happily married couples I've heard about.

Ah,that could be the secret!We've lived together for nearly 21yrs never got married.Both of us married before and not willing to go that route again!
