I'm new to this forum and could do with your help . I've got a 3litre Elite estate and the alarm is working fine except that the horn doesn't sound when it goes off ,all the lights flash as they should, but no noise at all .I don't know where the alarm horn is ,so I can't even check that, any ideas would be welcome

Hi John,
Both sounders are under the drivers side skuttle and have probably been disconected.

Thanks Pete, you wouldn't happen to have any pictures of it ? I am a complete novice with these cars and not very mechanically minded ,I love this car though and I want to learn all that I can about it

Here's the How to on removing the Skuttle. Once it is removed you will see the horn and sounder, they are very obvious ;)

Can the alarm be tested, and reset.

The reason I ask, with all the battery (flat) problems I had, I heard the alarm go off after the 1st flat battery, pressed the remote and turned it off all was ok.

Suffered 2 more flat battery, no alarm going off.

Took battery off and fitted the Vx Go battery, and had to rest the windows, cd code etc.

Tried to remember an alarm test that was mentioned.  Basicaly, leave the door window open and lock the car on the remote, wait 60 seconds than wave your arm inside the car and it should set the alarm off.  Mine doesnt anymore.  but as I said I have heard the alrm going off.

TIA   :y

Its not uncommon for both the alarm horn and the horn power sounder to be unplugged - I'd say 25% of Omegas I see have at least one of them disconnected.

I like it when my alarm horn is not sounding. It means no one is trying to steal my car. :y

TIP: If you want to check that the interior of the car is protected when the alarm is set, put a brick through the windscreen. If the alarm sounds, it's working perfectly :y
