The market is, essentially, completely uncaring about cars.
(Tries to think of a viable angle to persuade me otherwise..... No can't.)
People just believe what they are told. For example. We have a car. Its paid for, It just needs maintaining, fuel it, and keep it legal. Mr Media pops up, saying road tax is going up. Ooh noooo, what are we all to do?
We all go out and spend way more than the tax hike on a newer car. But that's ok, as it has cheaper road tax. Pay the difference in rfl, all be it begrudgingly, keep some cash, and drive the car you actually want to own.
But maybe that's the thing. This "car you actually want to own" isn't that. It's just a car. It has seats and a steering wheel. To quote our favourite pikey film.
Generally speaking, people don't give a rats arse about what car they drive. Just look at Beemers, and anything French.

by that I mean, there's no real requirement in what they want. Its budget, then wait for a marketing tool to take us in whatever direction. Oh, ok, I'll buy that car.
Most odd IMO. As buying a car is the second biggest purchase we'll ever make.
This affects us as omega owners, as the car/brand replacement we want (mostly) isn't available in the uk. Vastly due to a big heard of sheep and BS.
