boot locking switch

Any help please.....my face lift Omega boot will not open by the switch inside the car......It will open by the remote fob....I have changed the switch but still the same outcome....any fuses to check ???    or any other ideas please...thanks... :(

I made the same mistake in February and asked the same question but didnt like to say 'keep your finger on it'!

Strange thing is that the omega i have just sold i only had to touch the button and it opened, so when i did the same to the one i have just bought and it didnt open i thought it was faulty...But oh no  twas user error    :D

I've only owed a MFL car  ....... the good ooking model  ::) ...... so have never had the problem with an Omega. I believ Vauxhall chnaged the operation of he button from a simple push to open, to what you have on later cars. I/we have a Smart Roadster Coupe that has a push to open switch ...... I'd like that to work like you later Omega does, I've caught the buton a few times now which means jumping out at ligghts/etc to shut it again! ;D (forunately the Smart is smart enough to prevent it from being opened when on the move  ;))

You could always do the "Hilper mod", meaning your boot/tailgate will open with one short press, with keys in or out, on the move too.
