water leak.

hi to you all.

i seem to have developed a water leak it seem to be some where front passenger side . thing is i just had a cam belt and water pump done . im sure that there was no leak before , could they have not put something back right. or desturbed something.  :'(

Pop cambelt cover off, check around water pump if that has been changed.

Passenger side could be rad drain plug though.

Is coolant going down? Or can you see fluid on the tray? As pump changing is a messy business.

yes coolant gone down just bout half inch. and it driping of cross member passenger side.

Check water pump. Better still get people who did the job to look :)

Check also rad hose that runs from rad to block passenger side ;)

car has been back to frosts today , aparantly i need a new rad, its the. rad thats leaking :'(

I'd get q second opinion. Rads tend to fail at top hose  :-\

yes is a bit odd, tell me if the water from the rad gets on the engine block or manifold would the antifrezze in the water give a sort of oil burning smell. get this odd smell like burning oil sumtimes but i have no oil or gearbox oil leaking :-\

Did  ::) ::)the dealer damage the rad when they did the cam belt and pump.

I concur with others, it's most likely to have been the garage at fault.
It didn't leak before you left it with them and it did when you got it back. Pretty obvious really.
Any witness marks of historic leakage?
Any damage marks (hammer, spanner slipped, etc) on the radiator, especially in the areas near where a clumsy mechanic would have been working on a cambelt?
If you can show this sort of evidence, you have a case.

Where are you in Brighton? I can have a look to confirm diagnosis before you part with your cash... have previous experience of Frosts service department in Shoreham :-X

the quotes , they gave me, fitted with non vx part, 203 and with vx part 450. what a big diffrence, :)
