Iphone4
« on: 06 July 2014, 20:15:35 »

Had to connect my Iphone4 to my lappy to recharge it....

Itunes wanted to install V 7.1.2, i cancelled it....

Is it worth letting it install it? .... I did notice that 'Find my Iphone' hasnt been installed (altho it was) because it says it needs a newer version of IOS  :-\

Got version 6.1.3 at present....

I haven't updated mine either, someone said there were problems with 7? So I'm playing it safe, the phone works fine, that's good enough for me.

I foolishly allowed it to update mine, and wish I hadn't, although now I see it is trying another update, so perhaps that is to fix 7? :-\ :-\ :-\

Latest version would slow a 4 down intolerably for me. Although the upcoming v8 won't support the 4 I gather, so how bad can it get?

I have a 4s which I have updated to 7.1.2 as it is supposed to be a fixed update of 7.1.1, which I didnt do as it supposedly had bugs. No probs as of yet

Not an expert and I'm sure one will be along with more info (and some others telling you it's a gayphone and get rid  ::) )

iPhone4 will lack the legs to run ios7. 4S would probably just run it, but would be noticibly slower.

Unless you need ios7, stay as you are. Added to that, without Jobs, crApple have gone mental, and made it less obvious to use, and ultimately more taps to achieve a function.

Of anyone is considering one with a finger print scanner and they ever do any manual work, then don't bother. My dam thing recognises my finger print for half a day or so after programming and then you do a bit of graft and it stops working!

I've got iPhone 4s running 7.1.1 it's ok not updating to 7.1.2 due to needing 1gb of free space for a 23mb update! Something ain't right there :)

The iPhone is for ladies and ladyboys.  Of course it won't work after doing manly graft...

As a counter point been running 7 on my 4 for a few months and it is slower, but useable and I like the extra features  :y

If you take a v6 backup to your computer and move the resulting files to elsewhere (where iTunes can't replace them with a v7 backup) then you can always go back if you don't like it.
