That will repair easily enough, either way, if it's any consolation, as long as you don't just phone your insurance company and tell them to collect it. :y

A mate of mine collected a deer in a Caterham 7 a few years back, and came off much worse (car and driver). :(

No camera ::) :P

If it's pushed the front of the bonnet back it might simply pull out. If the bonnet has folded, even slightly at the second line, about 3" back from the front corners, you might find the slam panel is back as well... tell tale will be the smallest of creases where it meets the inner wing and the headlight brackets not sitting flush against the radiator frame :-\

Have hit a deer, a car and a lorry with the front of mine, so am quite familiar with how the Omega folds up... ::)

Bonnet looks OK but haven't opened it yet. Will have a look in the morning.

Yes. I know people in the past who have hit camels in the Middle East with serious results. We were fortunate it didn't hit the screen.

Joking aside, that is easily repairable, but expect it to be written off if you go down the insurance route...
Headlight assembly is nearly £300, bumper shell again £300 plus paint, plus labour and crash bar (another £90 if required), brackets and other bits and bobs, you really won't get change from £1100.

To asses it properly, it needs both headlights out, and bumper shell off. Bonnet looks unaffected which means the slam panel should be ok, bottom from corners of the wings might need tweaking from where the bumper cover has shifted across... also carefully inspect the nearside headlight assembly for cracking where the trim piece has pulled out :y

About £300 of second hand bits and an afternoons work will see it done :y

Good point raised by Kevin, and a golden rule of accident management. Have the car assessed on your property and only release it for repair having received WRITTEN confirmation that the car WILL be repaired.

Failure to do this will see it a Cat D or C, and you'll not see it again :-X

For best results, take the hit, and fix it as far away from your insurers as physically possible :y

Sad because I don't like harming any animal, let alone a deer.  :(

Sad because I hit & killed a deer near Woburn this evening.  :(

Sad because I damaged what was a pristine Omega.  :(

 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

swmbo did that about 3 years ago, the deer survived but we wrote the car off because of the repairs needed, it didn't look too bad but managed to damage the washer bottle, ................sad, it was a lowly model but quite sound, we didn't go through insurance though....... :( :(

As you may have surmised from this and other posts I am not remotely practical when it comes to cars and do not do any work on them myself (hangs his head in shame)  :-[

I will get a local assessment first.  Can anyone recommend a body repair shop for this. I live in Central Bedfordshire about 10 miles north of sunny Luton.  :-\

Pm Omegod or Rob G, gather the parts and I will gladly sort it for a tank of fuel and some beer tokens... I can give you a definitive parts list if required :y
