Trouble is those cars that have that type of bodywork become very brittle with age  Imagining hitting a pigeon and the whole car shattering 

The Reliant won't go fast enough to cause much damage to either the car or the pigeon if it hit one.  I've been a passenger in its 3 wheeled brother ....... an experience if ever there was one.

I doubt  the Rebel has a 5 star NCAP rating......

These cars were a joke in the 70's, let alone now.

In fact it was in about 1972 that I saw what was left of a three wheeler fibre glass shell scattered across a major road.  The engine and seats were the only things left intact and recognisable!!

If you think that 3 wheel Reliants are bad, take a good look at their replacements Aixams or Ligiers. They're hysterically crap, and then you discover how expensive they are. That said, the mechanic I know at the local dealer says that their customer base is seriously decreasing, as most of the 'need to drive a car on a M/C licence' have died.
