leaking shock on elite estate and other questons
« on: 19 July 2014, 19:05:38 »

I have done short of 300 mile  now and yeah good car much better than  some of the reviews and for a big 3.0 auto  not bad on fuel think i average 27mpg, was shocked paying £26 for 20ltres of fuel  so used to my £1 liter veg oil isuzu.
got couple of issues.
rough running code says  crank and knock sensors frienfs has given me  both as he cannot use them  so sorted there

Oil leak from level sensor   Can the seal be bought seperate ?As i grude paying 100 quid  fir a new one when i have a workingone that has a leaky seal.

Rear shock has a leak of fluid its has a plug going into it  . Is this self leveling suspension  and do i need to buy them in pairs?

Front headlight is yellowing   im guessing there is a how too?

oh and need the tracking done it pulls to left abd steering wheel point right is annoying i suspect need new wishbone can feel slight vibration from drivers side  so will save for new set.
Is there any where  recommended  to do alignment  livei n lanark so somewhere in the between edinburgh if glasgow for thevalignmeent

You can try to add some copper paste to the thread and oilproof silicone to seal it, if it's just and o-ring seal them take it off and go find similar o-ring :y The crank&knock code is propably just the crank sensor failing and makes the engine knock so that's why you get the KS code. If you have the first modell of omega (not fl nor minifl) the headlights are just.. well cr*p. If you see a hose going into the shock then it's self-leveling, tho you should always replace shocks and springs in pairs ::) I'd say no need to replace wishbones, just the bushes and if you replace them go for powerflex, whole lot more durable and oh how sharp does the steering of this obese barge get with some PF ;D

Cheers.

I know normal shock best replace in pairs  wasnt sure if the self leveling diffrent.

A friend is going to strip a 2.5 v6 from a veccy gsi  going have a swatch at the sensor and get a o ring to match.

point taken on crank will have a check of wishbones  n bal joints while i have it in the air

thank you
