Quick question.. Car is 2.6 auto with air con on and working.
Running roung m25 this morning at 75 to 80mph revs at 2.5 to 3k does this seem about right as it felt like it was stuck in second/third gear. S button works but wasnt pressed.

When I was a lad most automatics only had 3 gears. The 1972 Jaguar XJ12 for example. :y

Then came four....five ......six ....and even seven speed automatics.

I recall that SWMBO had a big old Granada (the squarish shaped "Sweeny" type) that was 3 speed auto. Never seemed right to me, nice car VERY comfy, but always reving high  :(

Quite agree, it, the Rover P6B and no doubt others needed an extra gear at the top..... :)
