To be fair to Steve I don't think that Daewoo, and it's upmarket sibling Dacia, are actually bad cars.

I was pleasantly surprised by uncle's Duster, although I think the base model makes more sense. And the Renault underpinnings drastically reduce my interest.

Although the two Renaults I had (a 19 16v and 5 GT Turbo) were still two of the most reliable cars I ever owned..

And, as I keep saying, my wife's megane coupe, complete with all the electronic gizmos, has never given any trouble over 4 years and 35,000 miles.
Omegas, of course, are equally reliable.
