Hi everyone,
I've been reading the board for some time now, but now my Omega has now forced me to ask for some assistance.
The problem:
When starting the car, first couple of seconds it runs well and rpm goes up well, but after couple of second it locks onto ~1200 rpm. I have had the issue for couple of seconds within recent months, but it fixed itself within seconds. Now it seems permanent.
However, sometimes it's revving up for a couple of seconds in random places, while driving in 'limp mode'.
I have also felt the brake pedal being stiff while starting the car.
I have run a paperclip test and only 23 & 92 came up.
23 Accelerator Position Sensor Not In Idle Range
92 Cruise Control Device Circuit Open Or Voltage High // I don't have cruise
I have only tried replacing the fuel filter and it didn't make any difference. I will have more time to check in the weekend so I would like to be prepared.
I have found
a thread with similar symptoms by user Maracus, but it might not be the same problem either. I will look into suggestions posted there and also try checking the swirl pot and lift pump according to tutorial here -
2.5 TD Lift Pump Diagnosis/Replacement (though I have a full tank

)
Do you guys have any ideas what should I be looking at?
Edit:
After some further reading (
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125954.0) I'm thinking toward vacuum pump or piping. I had some of my brake pipes replaced couple of weeks ago. Could this be related to the problem?
