Complaicent about Rear Axle
« on: 22 June 2008, 20:39:20 »

Hi,
Checking rear axle oil level was one of the things on my list of things to do when I first got my Omega late last year.

However, as it didn't seem to have much of a leak from the input shaft seal, I wasn't too bothered, and there were so many other things !!!!

Finally got round to it today, surprise surprise, it needed 700ml to bring up to oil level/filler hole. Much more than I expected.

Don't leave yours too long before you check it out

Hi,
Oil required is EP90 differential oil.
I used some Motul AP 90 which was on a special offer from Opie Oils when I bought the 10 Litres of Titan 4000 (Dexion 3 equiv) for auto gearbox oil change.

Although I don't think I have a limited slip differential, as car is ex plod I couldn't be sure. The Motul AP 90 is a differential oil but also has additives to make it suitable for limited slip differentials as well.
