lack of 3G signal makes tunnie go crazy....
« on: 23 June 2008, 11:46:03 »

well i am on call this weekend, which means no lakes for me.

Just checked Vodafones coverage map, and no 3G signal at Keswick, so means i cannot go :(

Ah well need to track down a facelift estate for mother tunnie!

I had a 3G signal at the site last year (3), anyway, I assume that Vodaphone drops back to the 2G network when no 3G is available?

3 drops onto the O2 network.

Except Ljay's, she seems to have no signal in Keswick!

Least with her text pal there as well, there will be no need  ;D

May try a sim card swap with one of you?  see if that changes anything

If the company you work for are basing thier out of hours support around the need for broadband access then they are heading for a fall (I assume the support contracts are not based around tight response times)

The Odd Fellows Bar and the Lake Side Inn in Keswick are listed as wifi hotspots in case of the need for broadband access.

Excellent, thanks!  :y - That will do, for me.

I have a support laptop, so can go along for a swift one whilst on support!  ;D

Yes there are responce times, when i get a critical system responce SMS, i must investigate within 45 minites.

And at the moment i am on call 15 days of every month  :'(

You too, if we had a facelift estate could have brought mother tunnie along.

She wants something 'new' and reliable, so i am only allowed to look at facelifts.

This will be the first meet i take the 2.2 along actually!  :o
