Mobile phones on planes
« on: 27 September 2014, 18:22:39 »

So we are now on the way to being able to use our phones, tablets etc on planes

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29381193

What a shame. :(

How long to Free*WiFi Satellite at 33,000 feet. with people babbling inanely "Where are you"  or texting whatever people text every five minutes?

No problem with mobiles on planes at any point currently .....

....provided they are in flight mode. I think Internet access will be an excellent idea. :y

However iplayer and live TV streaming is country specific so won't be available. Unless under license of course. Cachingggggggg ::)

I carry a decent MP3 player specifically so I don't have to listen to others moronic conversations on trains. Just imagine being sat right next to such a moron on a transatlantic flight. Another reason for keeping plane travel to an absolute minimum  :(

Been around for quiet a while now, Airline Carrier dependent and how much youve paid for your seat in which class.

Some Domestic US Carriers use modified Ground to Air 3g Cellular Technology for Internet whilst the bigger Boys (Qantas, Lufthansa etc) use SkySat stuff for around the World (better and faster) Internet bandwidth coverage.  ;)

If it was the pilot he could be texting ("I am on a plane") whilst driving.
