helped needed with prices of omegas.
« on: 29 September 2014, 09:26:27 »

Hi there. My trusty 2.5td has served me well but although id keep driving her for another few years ive gotten lucky and can afford a better one. Can someone help me with priced?

Want a 3.2 elite estate with gas conversion and low miles and must be super mint.

Price for. ...... less than 50k miles
Up to 70k miles.

Also with full history and receipts.

Big ask yes and I know the 3.2 estates with low miles are hard to find.

If I cant find a gas converted one,  how much would it cost to buy a 2nd hand kit or to pay someone to fit.

Thanks

A really mint one could be £4k, but others as low as £900 (or less)!  It depends on so much, but personally pay as much as you can afford for the best available, remembering that such low mileage ones are becoming very rare and attracting higher prices. ;)

I wouldn't be that bothered with mileage to be hones as they are a tough unit and anything with LPG will have been converted for a reason, usually because a lot of mileage is being covered. I would be more inclined to buy something for a grand or so and go right through it with new cambelt, suspension, rocker gaskets, ATF change and a sump clean up. Just my opinion  ;)

Wow.  4k is quite a bit. Will be up on about 2.5-3k I'll want to spend.  Want a motor that I can drive for at least 5 years and doesn't need anything bodywork wise.

I've done a search on the net. Omegas range from £15 for a poor example, right up to £120 for a decent one.

Assuming you have the same hoops as we do, don't bother with 2nd hand LPG tanks, as they have to be rechecked after 10yrs (and its cheaper to replace the tank).

Steve reckons he can pick em up for £120! :o :o :o

I have asked him to get one, so add one for you to the list! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

No, I can expect that a low mileage one that has rust showing and is showing signs of age due to mistreatment could be available for a low price.  Don't forget though that even my minter is only worth £800 max on webuyanycar.com!! ::) ::) ::) :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D
