Absolutely sick and fed up
« on: 10 October 2014, 18:51:32 »

I've not been right since I suddenly lost my old man, but Ive had a run of ten days or so where NOTHING will go right or be easy, I am royally fed up and have had absolutely zero time to do anything for myself. I've been doing too much for others and have inadvertently not been there enough for those at home. Unless it's something v simple eg a Cambelt I don't intend doing any substantial car repairs between now and next spring.

Sorry to hear that James. I'm afraid that losing a parent is something we are not trained for, and it comes hard to a lot of us. In a way, losing my Dad in the war when I was only a sprog may possibly have made it easier when my mother died at the grand age of 89.
I hope things look rosier for you soon.

Best wishes :y :y :y

Sorry to hear about you suddenly losing your father.

Its easy to say but you do have to strike the right life balance and look after the health of those around you and yourself.

I'm so sorry for your loss James.

We seem to be very good at glancing over day-to-day troubles until we are overly stressed or emotionally drained by a major incident.

Quite clearly, and 100% understandably, you are emotionally vulnerable, and as such, even small hills will seem like a mountain.  If you are able, take some time out from usual work activities, have some R&R and reflect on the many good things you have in life.

I hope I do not sound patronising, James, I just wish you the best for the future and hope you can rest and come back fighting fit.

Firstly, i'm very sorry to hear of the death of your dear Dad James, and please accept our sincere Condolences for your loss :(
The death of a Loved one is never easy, even when it's expected; very much more so when it comes out of the blue! But as others have said, Life goes on regardless of what it has thrown at us and we need to come to terms with that and find a way of dealing with the day to day humdrum no matter how much we hurt inside. In situations like this Families usually close ranks and support each other over the really hard early time of grieving and you are right to say that you need to devote more of your time & energy to your immediate Family. Be kind to yourself James, allow as much time as is necessary for you to come to terms with things so that you can continue into the future at peace with yourself and those around you.
Take care of yourself lad, you're one of lifes Good'uns :-*

You, the Mrs and the puppy or any combination, go and do what ever makes you feel good, Sit and have a coffee, read a book, what ever it takes to relax your mind James, Life goes on and we suffer many up's and down's but draw strength from happy things and let time be the healer.

Sorry to hear you have lost your dad when I lost mine 11 years ago to a massive heart attack it left me in a state of what happens now and in deep shock  :( things will seem to be at you and forever going wrong these are just the norm but it will get better with time, you must take time and be close to the ones you love, you only have one stab at life and you never know what will happen tomorrow so make the most of what you have. Once again sorry for your loss.  :(

It has all been said above, better than I could have, but may I add my condolences, please? We have only met once, when you did my cambelt so expertly but it was soon obvious what a fine engineer and gentleman you are.
Tears come, unbidden, to the eye......
