iPad is the easiest, most stable and most intuitive of all the tablets TBH. Even the most hardened Android fan would have to agree.

I personally do not get on with tablets either, preferring a full blown Win7 laptop. Despite its age, it will boot from cold in 11s, so for me tablets hold no advantage, and are too compromised.

Not out of the box it didn't. ;D

Its that bloody old, it never booted Windows 7 when it was taken out of the box ;D

But I can buy a decent laptop, and whatever else I need to achieve a sub 10s boot for less than the price of the cheapest full size iPad, and cheaper than a mid range iPad Mini.

I know what I'd rather have.

Well if iPad is the most intuitive tablet, then we might as well give up. :-\ :-\ :-\

We don't seem to be getting anywhere here tbh. There would seem to be a problem with the ipad.

Have you closed all the apps? Double click the menu button. How many apps are open? You may need to scroll across to see them.

Except this one... ::)

I presumably must rush out and buy an ipad just to find out how finnickety they are :-\

He's talking about the os Al, not the over powering restrictive element that gets people's backs up. Including mine, to a point.

As an os, there's is nothing simpler than a menu button and a touch screen.

There may be a wifi issue, which does upset them, or some other reason it's playing up. It's easy to miss type too, not that you lot will of noticed any of that in day of my posts. ;) ;D

My Mrs is profoundly technophobic. I got her an ASUS Tablet from PC World, sorry don't recall exact model, but it was around £100 and came in 3 colours, no fancy features like folding keyboards etc.

Dead easy, Android, and she loves it  :y

If the square button on the outside, bottom of screen, is the menu button, when I press that, there are 46 apps across the bottom, I presume that these are all the Apps on the iPad? How do I know if they are Open or not? :-\
I've just checked, there are 58 square Apps on the main screen, but some of those have other Apps inside them.

If you've double pressed the menu button, with square symbol on it, then that opens the application manager.
Press and hold one of the apps. They will then start to jiggle, and a red " - " symbol will appear. Press this and that app will close. Repeat for all the apps you want to close, and I's suggest you want to close all of them at this stage, unless you are working on anything like email or using safari, finish your work, then close all the apps via the red minus symbol.

The user needs to do this regularly, or the device will eventually seize up and apps start crashing, as you have disvovered. :)
