Seat removal question and Warning lights
« on: 12 November 2014, 19:27:20 »

1998 Tigra / Corsa, need to remove Passinger Seat (no airbag) and drive it around removed for a day or two. Any issues with the belt tensioner being removed in terms of throwing any warning lights etc, and if yes will it fix itself when the seat goes back in. Ta Chris.

Definitely the pyrotechnic pretensioners are monitored by SA6 srs ECUs. Not sure about mechanical ones.

Luck of the draw if the light goes out afterwards. Some do, some need resetting. Doesn't seem to be much of a pattern as to why.

Ok, thanks Jamie, I'll whip the battery off and have a look, so guessing if its monitored, there be some wires connected to it, if passive only then guessing it will be stand alone.  :y

I think both types have wires from ABS ECU, just to make life hard!

Thanks, bloody typical, ok might have to plan b and take the seat out and leave the tensioner ink or if that looks like a pita, striaght to plan c, which is just forget the whole idea.  ::)

Or take it out, and in a few days when it goes back in, hope the light goes out, if not, get it reset?

Remember, when light is on, its unlikely any of the SRS system will work if you have a bump
