C25XE vs X25XE Tuning chip
« on: 22 November 2014, 16:15:19 »

A question to the experts here:
I have a X25XE fitted on omega 97. I intent to buy a performance chip for my engine from ebay.

the German guy listed the chip under C25XE, according to him the chip will work on my X25XE with no issues at all. is that true? I don't want to lose my engine  :'(. what bad could possible happen if it's the wrong chip?

Thanks for your help.

Depends whether the Maps are the same, the answer which I dont know, wouldn't have thought they would be much different.

I assume you already know the best way to get more power out is to fit 3.0 Cam setup.

A lot of discussion here from about a week or so ago (12 pages in fact). - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=127038.0

As the C25XE was never fitted to the Omega, I suspect it won't be an ideal map for the car...  ...and that's before you get to things like the ECU controlled multiram setup that wasn't fitted (I believe) to the Chavalier etc.

I'd also avoid all chips from the likes of egay.

You are right.  The inlet is completely different to the Omega.  No Multi-Ram setup for starters.

That map will be a massive hindrance to the Omega.
