can 4 students use in 21 months?

I have a house in Liverpool which is an end terrace and is let to 4 students. I switched my gas/elec supply to British Gas Business in September 2006 because they were offering a good deal. I have been getting regular electric bills but have not had a single gas bill, until this week, but I have phoned BG everytime I have had an electric bill to ask for a gas bill, its only when I lost me rag 3 weeks ago that a bill arrived. The students are only at the house for 10 months and its also empty for 2 weeks at Christmas, so how much of my money do you think the've spent?

I should also add there is only the central heating and gas hob

Don't they pay the bills?  

Well, they're students, so washing can be discounted, as can laundry.   Most of my student days the hob would have been piled high with washing up or take-away cartons, and hence unuseable.

Spliff Fag Lighters come with their own gas supply.

Well in our studnet house we used to use 90 quid a month..........and that was 12 years ago!

Mind you, you could of bred snakes in thier and if it was to hot we opened a window!

so..........about 1700 quid I would guess (given inflation and all that)

Stupid thing was we had a victorian terrace house with 6 bedrooms, hardly any insulation and the bolier had no time switch or stat....just an on/off switch!

Of course it was always on as a result!

I suppose they're not growing exotic herbage in the roof space, are they?  Though I suppose that would have put up the electricity bill rather than the gas bill.

Do any of the cars run on home-brew "LPG"?

Or perhaps they're selling it back to the Russians

Pete have you checked they are not supplying fellow students next door with gas (and electric?)? :-? :-?  As a student I know how "cold" young students can be and some of the tricks they can get up to!!
