Pretty impressive Aaron, all the more so being an automatic(I never once saw his hands leave the steering wheel).

Mike Anderson has one of those that he uses in Spanish hill climb series.

It's not an auto - if you look carefully you can see two vertical chrome bars behind the wheel, one each side.  That's the gear lever..

IIRC I think it's running a Quaife clutchless box (clutchless upshifts, at least)

t'was a joke ;D

What would this missile weigh?

I'm guessing around 450 KG.......about twice that of a Hayabusa.

You could probably get a bike engined Westfield down to 450 Kg. Given that this has a bit more gubbins, I doubt it's below 500, but not far off that mark.

Frankly, I'd have put a bit more weight on it and fitted a roll cage, given the performance and the use it's likely to be put to.

Not that strange for something of that ilk - it'll be incredibly highly strung, probably not a great deal of fun on the roads day to day (as Mark says) and if you're only doing ~300 miles on a track day (as you'll no doubt trailer it there)..

I've seen 20 year old Cobra replicas for sale with 8000 on the clock.. people build them without really thinking about what they'll be like to live with and end up never driving them out of fear/cold/wet etc

For a man of your wealth surely nothing less than a genuine 1966 7 litre Shelby Cobra will do, Aaron.  ;D

If I had a spare few million lying around…

… I still wouldn't buy one ;D I'd rather spend £60-70k on a DB Replicas ally bodied, original chassis car, or £90-100 on a Kirkham (identical to the DB but with the cache of the name) ;)

Hmm. then again, for the cost of that engine you could have an RST V8. :-*

Ooh one of those would be a barrel of laughs in a Westfield..

Must admit I did find myself looking at the Westfield catalogue last time I was bored in a hotel, wondering if it would be totally selfish to have one as well as the cobra ;D although obviously there would have to be some serious dieting!

Although I might be more inclined to build an mx5 powered clone - there are some very capable ones now and at least they're not like the old live axle'd Tigers..
