James don't listen to the sceptics :)  The P38 is a great car and I only sold my immaculate P38 back in August.  It sounds like you have got hold of a really nice one and in the right colour combo as well.

I toyed with getting a Range Rover a few weeks ago, but would have to be newer than P38, and probably have to be diesel. Ideally, TDV8.

I'm changing the Skoda next year at some point & like you TB, thinking of a newer RR or even a new shape Disco. Only think putting me off is the £495 tax  >:( >:( >:(

My "old" P38 with 62,000 miles on the right.  Loved it until I bought the L322 V8 4.4 on the left and hence sold the P38 in August.

It's not till you see them both side by side that you realise how much bigger the later car is than the original car

If the  £495 RFL is a problem, how would you cope with the other expenses?

Yes the 2 cars are 2 different animals - loved driving my P38 until I bought the L322 and it sort of ruined the enjoyment of the P38.

Buy ex plod... they're technically not Type approved therefore can only be taxed at the standard PLG rates 8)

The Volvo T6 I was considering was less than the Omega to tax, instead of the £495 of the standard version...
