Sorry for sounding thick, but what are HID's?

You've got a CD so you shouldnt have HID's, unless option fitted.
Easy way to check (works 99% of the time) have you got adjustable headlight up/down on headlight switch cluster.....if so you've got ordinary filament bulbs  :y

See my previous reply. If you put GB stickers on, you'll need even more cash for the french piggies....

Omega HID headlights have levers to adjust beam from UK to a 'flat' setting, hence no silly headlight beam stickers required....
Does that mean that my car has HID's i never knew!

I will be taking the Omega across to France in February which will be my first bash at driving abroad.

Is there anything I need to do to the car before I go in preparation please? I have already got a long string of garlic ready to hang from the rear view mirror.  ;)

Get a snooper with you, otherwise you will end up paying 90euro speeding fines like me. Make sure the car is spot on and give it a thorough inspection, i usually do a full service before each trip and i was never let down. Ferrysavers.com is your place for ferry tickets.

Rumour is that they also time you between the toll booths as well....   ....I tend to keep close to the limits over there.  If its a long stretch of toll, I may boot it a little, and stop at some services for a break...

If you have GB on the reg plate then you don't require separate GB stickers.

Funny enough, i have heard the same thing but i never had a problem, my speed was an average of 95mph. The tunnels have usually speed cameras that are very sensitive. Italian police is less strict than the french.
