Here's one to test the power of 'love'
« on: 12 January 2015, 22:01:56 »

Went to a RTC the other night, female  ::) driving her boyfriends car, which he had just purchased 2 hours previously. The car was an 04 plate absolutely (before the accident) stunning Subaru Impreza WRX in that electric blue. Not a fan meself but it 'was' in impeccable condition even whilst on its roof!!!!!  :'( :'( :'( :'(

Can you just imagine THAT conversation  :o :o :o :o   :D :D :D :D

Back when I was young and stupid, I spent a lot of nights at Maidstone Bridge where there was a lot of automotive activity street racing. One night one bloke wrote off his own car(serious Mk2 Escort), his spare car(previous Mk1 Escort) and his girlfriend's car, all against the granite wall outside Fremlins. That would have been another interesting conversation in the morning.

One of the crash investigators used to say that  the cause of most crashes involving performance cars was Too much car, not enough driver. And crashes with a young driver? Driving like a c!*#

Having recovered lots of crashes, I find it very hard to argue with.

I spent a lot of nights at Maidstone Bridge
Used to be Saturday nights at Chelsea bridge for me, followed by a quick blast up the A4 to Heston services for a cuppa and then back again.

Sundays were reserved for "Sunday night at the mile" (a 1 mile long straight of dual carriageway on the A217 which was more commonly known as the "Mad Mile" where motorcycle headlights generally illuminated the sky rather than the tarmac in front of them)......those were the days  :'(

Last Saturday of the month was about the only night we missed, and that was to go to Chelsea. Used to take over an hour to drive around the circuit. The best night was when it fell on New Year's Eve, no police and racing across Albert Bridge. Happy days.

We went to Southend a few times, but found it too dull for the roundtrip.

Pah.

You Oldies were worried about the Police?  Back then, if you were lucky you'd get a Mini...... If you were very unlucky you'd meet a Zephyr, or an MGA.  I could outrun those on a pushbike!  ;D

This is what I had to contend with;

And I didn't get a 'telling off' or a 'clip around the ear'ole' I'd get a bloody summons!

Old Un's eh?  Don't know they are born!  ;D
