The expression might as well be soft as toffee... ::) bullets generally being made of lead, which can be dented with a fingernail :y

Only the inside of bullet is lead these days the outside is copper, but again soft enough :y

They have offered to fit a new pair of wiper free of charge. No labour costs. :y

However there is a charge of £28 for the wipers. :-\

Needless to say I declined.

If you're going to the trouble of hollowing the points, I guess it makes sense to fill the hole with shrapnel ::)

I expect a man of your social standing has a seperate credit card for everyday of the week and several spare Platinum cards for other mere triffles like cars/holidays etc. ;D

From memory don't they clean and treat any rust around the windscreen when fitting?  Certainly seem to remember that they did on at least 2 of the windscreens I have had replaced.

How do they treat it in a single visit? Do treatments not have to dry etc?

Hoping so - would be great if I got all the rust sorted 'all in' the price (well, the £75 excess) - though would prefer to do it myself. As you say - what about the drying of such treatments?

They remove the old screen, clean the aperature as required, then prep the new screen giving time for things to do what they do, then fit the new screen...

Any surface rust in the frame only requires flatting back and treating with Kurust or similar prior to being covered with sealant/bonding agent as the new screen is fitted :y

I was asked by the girl if my car had a tinted screen. She wanted to know if the tint was green or pink. ??? ??? ???

She also had trouble finding reference to 'Omega'

A long silence was followed by "I can find a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Corsa but not Omega". Nice girl ........the sister of 'Tim nice but dim'. :)

I think we got there in the end.

Do all models of Omega have exactly the same screen specification? I imagine the poverty spec GLS uses left over glass from the garden shed. ;D ;D

Six choices... heat reflective or not, tinted strip with auto wipers or not, heat reflective with auto wipers or not.

Most are tinted strip only, but auto wipers were a later option... think heat reflective was Elite only :-\

Fair enough, I just expected such things as rust to be the owner's responsibility, sort of thing. Good news, then, saves me a job!  :)
