Help required - vehicle identification
« on: 22 January 2015, 13:51:24 »

Following from my battery theft I have found some footage from my neighbour's cctv which just captures a car I would like to ID in the top right hand corner.  I have had to piece the bits together to generate the whole car image and I have ideas as to the make and model but I would like you experts to help me confirm :y

Whole car:

Original bits:

Thanks in advance :y

I'm wavering between Volvo S40 and Astra coupe.

Hint of mid-90's Escort at the back end perhaps, but no visible rust, so maybe not. ;)

Different wheels on front.

Indeed. Maybe someone nicked one of his. ;D

EDIT: That would make it an easy car to identify, however, very distinctive. :y

I think it looks longer than it is in the reconstruction. I'm going for S40 T4, as in..

I think you can just see that distinctive bit where it forms a triangle at the bottom of the pillar between the rear quarterlight and the door window.

Yeah keeping a beady eye out.  What I figured out from the footage is that the thief was walking to be picked up by this car.  He puts his jacket and bag in the car and then rings the doorbell twice to see if anyone is in and then collects the battery and legs it back to the car.

Thus he is likely to be local and pass by again soon :y
