Old Boiler.
« on: 23 January 2015, 15:08:23 »

No.Not the missus.. :) Just had a boiler inspection for insurance purposes. We have a 14 year old Initial, which I thought he would say immediately is, 'too old'. But, 30 minutes later he said, 'we would have no problem insuring this system'. "Deep Joy"! I was handed a printout which told me that the boiler was 78.2% efficient. I remembered a post on here quoting much higher figures and told him so. He replied, ' if you want a higher figure I could switch the machine over to 'Net eff', you would probably get a reading of about 85% then, but I prefer to live in the real world'. He also added, 'Blimey! the C.O.(p.p.m.) is fantastic at 10. looking at this readout and thinking of my checks and the age of your boiler, you have a darn good system'. Happy, happy, especially with FREE boiler cover... :y

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Get TB to use some diagnostics software on it. What could possibly go wrong with him playing with gas appliances. ;D ;D ;D

Talking of old boilers, I've been sorting out a house that's been empty for a few months for new tenants and decided to test the heating today.  :)

Hmmm, the pressure's a bit low, so topped it up and suddenly the dump valve's going and I've got water pishing all over the kitchen worktop. :o >:(

Took the cover off to inspect further and discovered that the expansion vessel is goosed.  ::)  So not too bad and lucky I discovered it rather than the new tenants!  :y
